Last night I sat in on Aimee Gelina's Intro to Afro-Caribbean Drumming class and wow!  She is a fantastic teacher, drummer, and musician.  Aimee not only is very knowledgeable regarding the various drums rhythms, she also has a deep understanding of the cultural and spiritual significance of the music she teaches about.
Together with Aimee's instruction,  the group was able to learn several patterns and to put it together into some very real and powerful drumming.  

Drumming quickly transports drummers and dancers to Sacred Space, journeying together, our souls respond to this ancient way of creating music and calling Spirit. 
I left the class feeling renewed and alive, my senses vibrating higher.
