visiting Salem, MA
Yesterday my daughter and I took some time out from our busy lives to visit Salem. If you haven't been, it is a fun place to explore. I enjoy/appreciate the musuems and I get a kick out of the tacky "witchy" stuff. Yes, I am one of those witches and maybe this is a slightly controversial subject, but there is a part of me that loves all the stuff they come up with. Some things are REALLY tacky and make me laugh, yet some things are cool.....where else can you get a black glass shot glass with a pentacle saying Earth Air Fire Water and Spirit??? (yes, I got one and yes, it is already on one of my home altars). From postcards to bumperstickers and tee-shirts....you could easily be overwhelmed.
We took the time to visit some of the musuems ( we have been to all the museums before so we just went to one newer one we hadn't seen before) and went to the Witches Dungeon. This museum had live actors reenacting an actual witch trail (the script is taken from court records) and then there is a tour through the recreated dungeons that real people were kept in. Very intense and entirely eye opening.
We also went to the cemetery, Burying Point. This was a very peaceful place and the Spirits of Place felt strong and powerful with incredible, old trees growing, watching over.
Then we took our leisure exploring all sorts of wonderful stores similar to AwenTree and that was just a whole lot of fun. I enjoy being able to be in the wonderful energy created by folks with a similar dream/vision and relax in their stores.
After hours of following the "red line" painted on the cobblestones to find the historic places, coffee and icecream, we were ready to return to western ma.

Hi! I'm new to reading your blog, and I have to say, I really enjoy the fresh perspective on magickal topics. Having been to Salem, but not in years, I was really interested in your experiences there--it was fun to read.
I've already got a link up to your store at the new Weavers (COG Local Council) blog, but I'd like to run an RSS feed of the blog, too. Please let me know if you have any objections!
I'd also really appreciate any suggestions or input around calendar items (happy to run listings for your workshops, etc.) and links. Since the idea is to create a networking page of use to Pagans anywhere in the Valley, not just a link to Covenant of the Goddess stuff, we're aiming for completeness and community rather than just our own small group.
You can find us online at Weaving">http://weaverscog.blogspot.com">Weaving the Web. If you give your OK to run your blog there, it will look something like Druid Journal or The Wild Hunt do on that page.
You can get in touch with me at quagan AT mac DOT com.
Blessings!

Hi Cat
Thank you for the wonderful feedback and yes, please go ahead and run an RSS feed! Thanks!
Our website has a calendar and feel free to list anything you think folks would be interested in.
Sorry, I didn't write back sooner, I have been away at Sirius Rising.
Many Blessings!
Winifred
